IMHO the tooll must have an operators that should select sub-objects of a mesh such as Vertexes, Edges or Faces by volume and it could be awesome if be possible in GUI.
These selections will be stored in selection-channels or under an ID, and other operators such as Translate, Bend, Twirl. and Extrude must do their functions only with selected sub-objects (if set).
These feature already implemented in Enigma4 demo tool by Brain Control or in 3D Max.
