The [Material (PBR)] operator has "Albedo Texture" as an Image type input, but the block accepts only Scene type inputs. Concretely, why can't I create a [LoadImage] operator and drag that as an input to the Material operator?

it should be no problem to connect any image / lilac node with the Albedo-Texture input.
Try to drop the output of your node right on the word "Albedo Texture" to connect them.
